Some of this material applies to a previous class. Don’t be upset. You are doing great.

curve

I’ve actually lowered the high white some. See how the curve is steepest in the shadow areas, stretching the tones there. The middle tones are elevated considerably, and the slope of the curve in the highlights is “flatter”. It is important not to allow the highlights to go higher.

discussion on color temp, exposure in dark, snowy scene

Posted: Saturday, March 11th, 2006 @ 3:27 pm in Urschleim | No Comments »

Chris, when you made this exposure, the camera was set to “automatic” exposure — unless I’m misreading it. Probably, also, the camera’s white balance setting was on “daylight”.
Two things are happening. First, since the meter interprets everything that it sees as equal to an 18% reflectance gray card, and since lots […]

Here are some things I wanted to demonstrate.

The image implies a line:

You can change the aspect; go to “image” “image size” and change the values. To change the aspect you need to uncheck the “constrain proportions” box:

Here, I have altered the shape to “anthropomorphize” it. To do this I used “edit-Transform-distort”

Here, first […]
